Dear Friends!
Whoa! And as Pudge promised yesterday we have a special bonus winner to neigh about! That’s right! We work really hard to get as much in as we can but sometimes it’s hard to get them all. However!! This dazzling son of Parker’s Storm Cat, this Ben’s Cat simply cannot be overlooked!! Pudge and I have admired Ben’s Cat from Jim’s Stables and trained by King Leatherbury since the inception of this blog and even before. This horse is our local pal as he is from Maryland, but we feel as if he is our best chum. We simply never tire of Ben’s Cat. He is terrific in every way and we luv it when he runs out his foes and leaves them behind! He has given us so many thrills and we look forward to the next race each and every time!!
His last race a win in the Laurel Dash Stakes at Laurel Park found him placed wide but even so he was up to it and cruised on like the champ he is straight to the finish!! This makes Ben’s Cat the proud winner of 18 stakes victories!! Woo Hoo and that is no small accomplishment! Truly magnificent! His final time for the distance was 1:07:40.
It’s hard for us to believe that he is seven years old but as each year rolls out, Ben rolls too. I think that he’ll be one for the history books in our local area and beyond. We like that his trainer puts a great deal of thought into what races Ben will run in. He seems to have the magic touch doesn’t he? Win, win and win. He may suffer a loss here and there but it’s mostly there and not by much.
Ben’s options for the next race may include the Maryland Million which will be run on October 19th. His trainer is also considering the Nearctic Stakes in Canada which is a grade II. We’re hoping for the Maryland Million!
It seems fitting because Pudge and I both feel Ben’s Cat is one in a million! Keep up the great work big guy and we’ll be looking for you in the winner’s circle once again!! Watch out for the Orange Diamond!!!
